School Dinners & Healthy Lunch Ideas

We serve hot school dinners every day at a cost of £2.50. If your child is entitled to Free School Meals these will be free of charge.  All children in EYFS, Year 1 and Year 2 can have a free hot meal each day as part of the Government Universal Free School meal Initiative.

ALL school dinners need to be ordered in advance.  School dinner menus are published and paid for on the My Child At School app.  Universal and Free School Meal children will still need to order their choices but will not be charged.

On occasion, it may be necessary to make substitutions to selected meals without prior notice. We will endeavour to make any substitution as similar to the original as possible and known allergies or dietary requirements will be catered for.

If you are sending in a packed lunch and/or snacks we have ideas for healthy lunch boxes and snacks below.

Please remember we are a

Healthy Lunch Ideas

Parents often fill lunch boxes with snacks so their child has lots of choice. Unfortunately, children usually try to eat it all and miss out on play and exercise time. And after downing crisps, chocolate, biscuits and meat snacks, when it comes to the healthy banana, they may be just too full!

REMEMBER:

  • Less is more – take off the pressure and leave them time for play and exercise.
  • Junk the junk – take away the temptation. Don’t worry, they won’t starve!
  • Mix it up – make each day different and introduce your child to exciting new tastes.
